Merchandise Buyer Assistant, Sr. jobs in Royal Oak, MI

Webasto Roof Systems Inc. is currently recruiting for a Sr. Serial Buyer.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible forspecific plant(s) in series production
• Purchasing contact for our production plants
• Requesting quotations for technical/logistic changes of series parts and negotiating the tool modification costs and prices
• Implementing the ECAs into series production for plants
• Processing capacity inquiries from projects/sales and escalating/solving potential delivery shortages/problems in cooperation with plants
• Ensuring deliveries of spare parts (after EOP) and negotiating the costs in consideration of purchasing relevant factors
• Clarifying and eliminating price discrepancies in SAP
• Supporting by implementation of cost cut activities and supplier relocations etc.
• First escalation level for plant logistic issues with supplier

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor'sDegree in Engineering orBusiness Administration or related field
• 5 years experience within Purchasing for manufacturing; preferably automotive
• Strong negotiation skills
• Strong relationship skill to work within a team (leadership, reactivity...)
• Manufacturing / engineering experience is a plus
• SAP / Excel experience
• Negotiation skills with distinctive target orientation
• Analytical, interdepartmental and customer oriented thinking and acting
• Knowledge in cost analysis
• Strong time and project management, problem solving and continuous improvement skills
