The Assistant Food & Beverage Buyer assists in requesting, reviewing and distributing competitive bids for goods and services. Responsible for preparation and distribution of various reports, memos and correspondence.

Description:

Assists in determining best method of procurement (such as direct purchase, competitive bid, or annual contract) and the safekeeping of these records. Recommends substitute materials where a savings in cost or improved quality or delivery results. Obtains a minimum of three (3) price quotations by correspondence, telephone or supplier interview, to determine the most cost-effective vendor. Maintains current cost data on all purchased items. Negotiating adjustments and returns with vendors, and develops new vendor sources as required, and works in conjunction with accounts payable in resolving vendor invoice problems. Process purchase orders daily.

Qualifications:

• High School Education.

• 3 to 5 years administrative experience required.

• Typing speed of 45-60 wpm required.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word and Excel.

• AS400/Stratton Warren Experience
