Mental Health Technician observes and assists assigned mental health patients and helps with daily living activities, therapeutic activities, and socialization. Responsible for the overall maintenance of a therapeutic environment in the psychiatric unit and to ensure the safety of patents and staff. Being a Mental Health Technician attends and participates in group therapy, in-service education, and staff meetings. Records information about patients including vital signs, weight, and demeanor. Additionally, Mental Health Technician may communicate with patients family as needed. Typically requires an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a registered nurse (rn) or other supervisor. The Mental Health Technician works under moderate supervision.     Immediate opportunity for a Mental Health Technician - Immanuel Residential Treatment

    Sign-on bonus:
    • up to $2,500 days (full time, we will pro-rate for part time)
    • up to $3,500 nights (full time, we will pro-rate for part time)

    Weekender - (Every weekend option A)
    Days - $10.00 per hour on top of base pay
    Nights - $15.00 per hour on top of base pay

    Weekender - (Every other weekend option B)
    Days - $7.50 per hour on top of base pay
    Nights - $12.50 per hour on top of base pay

    Expectations:
    • Assists patients in the development of individuality and appropriate methods of self-expression through promoting an environment in which the patient can problem-solve and test out new behaviors
    • Assists the patients in acknowledging and accepting responsibility for psychological and behavioral patterns through providing feedback and positive reinforcement, consistently applying program rights and regulations, behavior modification program and communicating in an appropriate manner with the patient
    • Participates in admission procedures; orients patient and family (significant others) to unit and program
    • Performs basic tasks on the patient such as patient safety rounding, admissions, vital signs, blood pressure, specimen collection, accu checks, weighing and assisting with activities of daily living

    Qualifications
    • High School Diploma with at least 1 year of experience preferred
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
    • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Service field or Graduate of a Psychiatric Assistant or Nurse Aide training program or one year experience in the Behavioral Health field
    • Certification Mental Health Tech - preferred

    Pay Range
    $14.78 - $20.33 /hour
