Mental Health Technician observes and assists assigned mental health patients and helps with daily living activities, therapeutic activities, and socialization. Responsible for the overall maintenance of a therapeutic environment in the psychiatric unit and to ensure the safety of patents and staff. Being a Mental Health Technician attends and participates in group therapy, in-service education, and staff meetings. Records information about patients including vital signs, weight, and demeanor. Additionally, Mental Health Technician may communicate with patients family as needed. Typically requires an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a registered nurse (rn) or other supervisor. The Mental Health Technician works under moderate supervision. Penndel Mental Health Center has immediate openings for Family Based Mental Health Professionals. Must have clinical experience working with children and adolescents.
Family Based Mental Health Professional will be a member of a dynamic two-person team providing individual, parent and family therapy to at-risk youth. the Family Based Mental Health Professional will use creative ways to engage young people and their family members to address complex family-systems issues with the goal of promoting family stability and mitigating the young person’s risk for out of home placement. The treatment team uses the Eco Systemic Structural Family Therapy model and receives formal training in the model. Thorough clinical weekly supervision is also provided to support clinicians in their work with the families. Assist families in assessing community resources. Group supervision for licensure offered as well as use of agency vehicle. Program also recently initiated a performance incentive program.
Mental Health Professional requires Master’s degree in related field and previous experience.
