Job Summary:
The Crisis Mental Health Professional Person (MHPP) Therapist utilizes clinical expertise to perform crisis assessments and provide disposition for clients referred to us by law enforcement, hospitals and various community partners interacting with those experiencing psychiatric emergencies in Western Montana. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, the MHPP works to provide timely evaluation services to assess mental status and risk for harm to self and others or those who are otherwise in need of imminent mental health support. In this role, the MHPP guides the process of determining clinical need for hospitalization or crisis house placement. In certain cases, the MHPP will determine need for placement at the Montana State hospital and provides testimony in court during this process.
This fast-paced and challenging role is ideal for a person with a strong sense of empathy, decision-making skills and ability to collaborate with community partners. The ability to handle crisis, multi-task and perform clinical work independently using a tele-health platform will be key in this remote work opportunity. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to successfully communicate within an interdisciplinary team environment and provide consultation to other clinicians and staff.
