DiscoverU Health is a NURSE-led healthcare management firm that provides membership-based virtual and home-based services to Adults and Geriatrics in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area. Individuals and businesses can access DiscoverU Health, health plans to access the following services includes Primary Care, Urgent Care, Chronic Care, Mental Care, Sexual Health, Women’s Health Care, Dermatology Care, and Labs.
Through the collective partnership with our Internal Medicine, Family Practice, or Geriatric Medicine Physicians and Nurse Practitioners, Therapists, and Social Workers bring quality care to you.
Our members are the uninsured population and we provide mental health at a reduced rate. All sessions are 30 mins each and 80%-100% remote. If you are passionate about helping those who need it most, please apply for a per diem or part-time remote position. ( Must be based in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia ) .
Therapist Job Responsibilities:
- Establishes positive, trusting rapport with patients.
- Diagnoses and treats mental health disorders.
- Creates individualized treatment plans according to patient needs and circumstances.
- Meets with patients regularly to provide counseling, and treatment and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Conducts ongoing assessments of patient progress.
- Involves and advises family members when appropriate.
- Refers patients to internal specialists or outside agencies when necessary.
- Maintains thorough records of patient meetings and progress.
- Follows all safety protocols and maintains client confidentiality.
- Contributes to practice by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Flexible work hours from Monday- Saturday. You post your availability and our member will book directly with you. Our goal is to support the whole person and referring to different specialists within the company is highly encouraged.
Therapist Qualifications/Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Ability to build rapport quickly.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to communicate with compassion and empathy.
- Strong ability to manage time and prioritize tasks.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field.
- Current with all state licensing requirements, including LCPC, LCSW, Phd, PsyD.
- Several years of clinical experience.
