Men's Athletics Director directs all facets of a university/college's men's athletic program, including intramural and intercollegiate sports. Manages the entire men's coaching staff. Also responsible for fundraising, publicity, ticket pricing and distribution, and purchase of new equipment. Additionally, Men's Athletics Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Men's Athletics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. UCF Athletics at the University of Central Florida, an NCAA Division I institution and Big XII member, is seeking applications for the position of Athletic Trainer – Men's Basketball.
The selected candidate will assist the Associate A.D., Sports Medicine in the day-to-day management of athletics' sports medicine operation while serving as a primary athletic trainer for men's basketball. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: coordination of injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of student-athletes; supervision of graduate and student assistants; nutrition; and budget implementation. Due to the nature/scope of Athletics and Athletics events, position regularly requires work on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Minimum qualifications: Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of directly related professional experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and 3 years of directly related experience. Must possess or be able to obtain the NATABOC, as well as CPR and AED certification. Prefer Master's degree and NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer credentials; eligible for State of Florida Athletic Training License; and five (5) years athletic training experience at the NCAA Division I level or higher.
