Processes subscriptions, membership applications, or member data changes. Being a Membership Assistant directs members to the resources to answer questions or provide requested information. Documents inquiries and interactions using a ticketing or customer relationship management (CRM) system. Additionally, Membership Assistant may draft correspondence and promotional communications or conduct outreach calling to solicit new members or promote events. May require an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Membership Assistant works under moderate supervision. MOVE Staffing has paired up with a local chamber to find them their next Membership and Communications Specialist!
The primary job duties of the Membership & Communications Specialist are to:
1) oversee the membership initiatives of the Chamber of Commerce (including engaging existing members, onboarding new members, and facilitating membership leads), and
2) assist with the Chamber’s communication and event planning needs (e-blasts, social media posts, website, committee meetings) to create brand awareness and drive top-of-mind engagement of membership activities and benefits

The essential responsibilities of the job include:
· Launch initiatives for membership engagement and growth (onboard new members, meet with potential members, connect with existing members)
· Facilitate new member activities and orientation (ribbon cuttings, grand openings, Champion visits)
· Maintain and update membership database
· Secure Business After Hours and Lunch & Learns hosts and work together to ensure success for the host and attendees
· Track event attendance and membership for metrics/engagement
· Prepare communications to members, committees and other stakeholders (e-blasts, social media posts, emails, website)
· Assist in the planning and implementing of the Chamber’s key special events (such as Women in Leadership Conference, Annual Awards Gala, luncheons) with committees comprised of the Chamber staff, Board and members
Requirements:
Ideal applicants should meet the following qualifications:
· Excellent ability to communicate, both written and verbally, with individuals and groups
· Demonstrated ability to manage projects and events from concept to completion, including managing a budget and volunteer resources.
· Task and detail oriented with a proven track record of managing challenging situations and deadlines.
· Intermediate or higher level of proficiency in word processing, databases, spreadsheets, photography and social media
· Must have a polished demeanor and be comfortable working with people at all levels
· Associates/Bachelors in Business, Marketing, or Communications or equivalent experience
· Candidates must be able to work a few evening hours each month when an occasional networking or special event is scheduled after regular business hours.
The salary range for the Membership & Communications Specialist is $35,000 - $40,000. The position does not currently offer health insurance or retirement benefits.
