Member Services Director directs and coordinates all aspects of the health maintenance organization (HMO) member services department. Plans and directs policies and objectives for addressing member inquiries. Being a Member Services Director establishes service quality goals for the department and implements strategies to meet these goals. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Member Services Director typically reports to top management. The Member Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Member Services Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Responsibilities and Purpose
- Identify each resident’s social, emotional and psychological needs.
- Develop and carry out a plan to develop the residents’ full potential during their stay.
- Planning for the resident’s discharge or transition to another care environment.
Desired Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in social work OR Bachelor’s degree in human services field including, but not limited to, sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling, gerontology and psychology.
- Completion Certificate for Oklahoma-approved Social Services training program.
- Knowledge of federal and state guidelines.
- One (1) year of supervised social work experience in a healthcare setting working directly with individuals.
- One (1) or more years or work in a skilled nursing facility, hospice or long term acute care.
