Member Certification Specialist coordinates the certification and credentialing programs of a professional or membership organization. Participates in the development of standards and the creation of testing materials. Being a Member Certification Specialist maintains and monitors a test scheduling system or database. Organizes resources to implement testing schedules and sessions, including locations, testers, technology, and materials. Additionally, Member Certification Specialist assists members with information about programs and resolves any issues with the process. Interfaces with and monitors outside testing providers. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Member Certification Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Job Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree is preferred. A minimum of 2 years of related experience in receiving, reviewing, and processing applications for certification, licensure, or similar compliance-type program is required. Key desired experience includes work in application receipt and processing, specifically in interpreting program requirements and submitted documentation to determine compliance with standards. Must be capable in using cloud-based software. Must also be highly organized, self-motivated, and possess strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. A strong customer service focus is essential. A background check is part of the hiring process. Period of job training is required in the company office.
Job Responsibilities: This position is responsible for receiving, reviewing, and processing applications for certification. The Certification Specialist will interpret and apply certification policies and procedures to the assigned caseload of certification applicants and certified individuals; provide technical assistance to certification applicants and certified individuals; and perform related customer service, clerical, and administrative tasks. This position works closely in a team environment and responds directly to the Certification Operations Manager.
