Meeting/Event Planner plans and organizes live or virtual meetings and events for an organization or external clients. Implements an event strategy to achieve objectives. Being a Meeting/Event Planner researches and recommends event venues. Coordinates meeting logistics, including attendee registration, transportation, accommodations, meals, and technology. Additionally, Meeting/Event Planner conducts rehearsals and system checks of all equipment and connectivity. Researches and maintains relationships with vendors for event support services. Coordinates budget planning and ensures that events stay within cost projections. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Meeting/Event Planner occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Job Summary


    Responsible for reviewing, researching, editing, prioritizing, inserting and planning all non-emergency job tasks within company CMMS/SAP system. Establish manpower requirements, assisting in controlling costs, ordering materials, equipment (cranes, forklifts, etc.) and reducing waste in the maintenance department. Ensure coordination with storeroom to track parts etc.; tracking their delivery dates, staged materials etc. and the time of delivery of equipment needed to perform the task. Work closely with the different departments in the maintenance and production on scheduling maintenance shutdowns and repairs and assuring that all parts, equipment, etc. is available and/or ordered.


    Job Functions


    Essential Functions:

    • Develop and monitor short range planning in support of the company’s maintenance department and plant goals and objectives.
    • Assist department supervisors and Maintenance Manager to assure departmental/individual compliance with National, State, local building/mechanical codes; safety codes; OSHA regulations; fire codes; company’s policies, procedures and standards.
    • Assist in maintaining/improving productivity, and quality of work.
    • Assist in planning for the installations, inspection, maintenance and repair of plant equipment, appliances, utilities and the physical plant.
    • Assist as directed to help oversee and/or coordinate the work of outside contractors on projects assigned to the department to ensure timely completion of projects and that the company’s quality standards are met.
    • Create and direct the operation of the Preventative Maintenance Program.
    • Obtain and ensure proper approval for the purchase of supplies, equipment and parts.
    • Exhibit good customer relations with plant staff, visitors, vendors, and co-workers; shows courtesy, compassion, and respect for all.
    • Contribute to the Departmental efficiency and effectiveness by offering suggestions and specific problem solving solutions. Assists in planning, implementation and evaluation of actions as required. Assist supervisors and mechanics in solving problems as requested.
    • Take an active role in the Grand Island Plant maintenance key performance indicators.
    • Take an active role in the Planner/Scheduler group meetings and discussion.
    • Strictly adhere to company and plant policies concerning safety, performing proper Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures, proper lifting technique, wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE) related to duties.
    • Adhere to all company and plant policies related to GMP’s


    Other Job Duties:

    • Perform other assigned duties as directed by the Maintenance Managers and Supervisors.
    • Other detailed duties may be assigned as required.

    Flame retardant clothing, steel toe shoes, safety glasses, and hard hat required at all times.

    Job Qualification Requirements

    • Mental
    • High School diploma or equivalent (2 year technical college degree preferred) Three to ten years experience in the industrial maintenance field with working knowledge of computers, blueprints and schematics; knowledge of estimating, scheduling, planning, communicating and budgeting.
    • Possess good computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office programs.
    • Possess a basic understanding of CMMS systems and their functions.
    • Proper safety knowledge (both general and specific to our plant)
      • Previous history of demonstrated good working practices
      • First aid, CPR
      • Fall protection
      • LOTO (electrically, hydraulically, pneumatically, manually, etc.)
      • Permit system
      • Hand tool safety (precision and power)
      • MSDS
      • Ladder safety
      • Confined space entry
      • PPE (cutting/welding, chemical, etc.)
      • Food safety
      • PSM and management of change as related to ammonia refrigeration.

    • Knowledge of different types of drawings (steel, P&ID, equipment, etc.). Ability to read and interpret lines, dimensions, scales, symbols and abbreviations.
    • Must be able to utilize/understand manuals for component assembly and operation (bearings, sprockets, coupling, belts, motors).
    • Possess knowledge of basic machine design principles and applications of horsepower, torque, strength of materials, etc.
    • Application of failure analysis and root cause analysis, and understand how to utilize the equipment files, manuals, etc. Apply proper follow up and reporting procedures.
    • Be familiar with:
      • Concept of pressure, flow, temperature, viscosity, etc.
      • Type of pumps (centrifugal, positive displacement, etc.).
      • Pump rating (curve reading).
      • Efficiencies.
      • Pump selection.
      • Pump rebuilding.
      • Seal functions and different types (i.e. cartridge, mechanical)
      • Construction materials of pumps and seals
