Meeting/Event Director directs the overall planning and strategy for live or virtual meetings and events for an organization. Defines the goals, success metrics, and messaging for events. Being a Meeting/Event Director implements best practices and develops planning standards, policies. and procedures. Additionally, Meeting/Event Director develops a network of vendors. Approves the final selection of venues, catering, technology, and other event support services. Reviews and approves contracts and has overall responsibility for ensuring events stay within budget. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Meeting/Event Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. The Goddard School of South Windsor, CT is a unique and exciting, premier childcare program, specifically tailored for children from Infants to Pre-kindergarteners. We operate 12 months a year, and our focus is on early childhood development creating young, excited learners. This is a brand-new center, opening in Spring 2023.
We are seeking a dynamic and creative self-starter to join our team and lead this program. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in early childhood education, preferably with a minimum of 3 years of management experience. There are endless opportunities for the creative mind to build our programming for young children. Job Requirements: This candidate will need a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Child Development, or related field. Additionally, 3 years or more of management experience is preferred. Strong leadership skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong working knowledge of technology is necessary to thrive in this role. The successful candidate will also be a collaborator, self-motivated, highly organized, prepared, and able to multitask. There is minimal travel for training.
