Meeting/Event Assistant jobs in Chesapeake, VA

Meeting/Event Assistant plans and organizes live or virtual meetings and events for an organization or external clients. Implements an event strategy to achieve objectives. Being a Meeting/Event Assistant researches and recommends event venues. Coordinates meeting logistics, including attendee registration, transportation, accommodations, meals, and technology. Additionally, Meeting/Event Assistant conducts rehearsals and system checks of all equipment and connectivity. Establishes relationships with vendors for event support services. Coordinates budget planning and ensures that events stay within cost projections. May assist more senior event planners in planning larger or more complex events. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Meeting/Event Assistant work is closely managed.     Major Responsibilities

    • Assist with resident activities, assessments, and activities profiles.
    • Assist in scheduling movies, planning parties, and providing games / activities for residents.
    • Encourage residents to participate in recreational social activities so that all residents are involved in activities by engaging in and organizing games, crafts, religious services, parties, etc.
    • Assist Community Life Director in expanding services.
    • Provide innovative, responsible healthcare with the creation and implementation of new ideas and concepts that continually improve systems and processes to achieve superior results.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
    • Some experience preferred in providing recreation services to residents in a health care setting.
    • Must possess current unencumbered valid state driver's license.
    • You must be qualified, compassionate, and dedicated to a job well done.
