Medical Technologist - Hematology jobs in Connecticut
Medical Technologist - Hematology performs a variety of blood tests, studies morphology of blood constituents and performs various coagulation tests to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Conducts technical procedures related to the counting and identification of blood cells and other specialized hematologic tests. Being a Medical Technologist - Hematology verifies accuracy of findings, identifies test inconsistencies, and takes appropriate action to make corrections and resolve problems. Operates, cleans, and maintains laboratory equipment used in blood analysis and procedures. Additionally, Medical Technologist - Hematology may perform urinalysis studies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or supervisor. Typically requires an American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification or its equivalent. May require a state license to practice. Medical Technologist - Hematology's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Hematology Oncology PC (HOPC) is a long-established practice with 8 physicians and 7 nurse practitioners - practicing at the Bennett Cancer Center (BCC) in Stamford, Connecticut under an affiliation with Stamford Health (SH). The BCC is a member of the Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Care Collaborative. The group has an excellent opportunity for a full-time Hematology/Oncology Advanced Practice Provider. Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant.
Qualification Requirements:
- Master’s degree from an accredited school of nursing
- Eligible for or currently licensed APRN/PA in state of CT
- Maintains continuing education credits and license renewal
- ONS certification for APRN required or to be obtained within 2 years of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years previous experience in a similar position
- Oncology experience
Work Location: One Location - Stamford, CT
Working days: Monday -Friday
Typical start time: 8AM
Typical end time: 5PM
