Tracks license and certification expirations for all providers to ensure timely renewals. Additionally, Medical Staff Credentialing Specialist may require an associate degree or equivalent. May require certification as a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Under general supervision, organize and carry-out the numerous tasks involved with processing applications for Staff membership and/or clinical privileges.
College degree in business, healthcare administration, human resource management or other related field preferred.
Certification as CMSC or CPCS preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years of hospital or managed care administrative or secretarial experience in one of the following fields: physician credentialing, personnel administration, medical records, medical education, medical administration or medical secretarial.
