Medical Social Worker (BSW) provides social work services to hospital patients and their families. Counsels and provides crisis intervention for patients, including assessment and treatment of emotional and behavioral problems related to hospitalization. Being a Medical Social Worker (BSW) participates as a member of multi-disciplinary team and may assist patients in treatment planning. May contribute to the formulation of discharge plans. Additionally, Medical Social Worker (BSW) requires a bachelor's degree of social work. Typically reports to a manager. WORK SUMMARY:
Required to achieve certification to be able to train staff in First Aid, CPR, Mandt, Medication, and perform Critical Incident Investigations. Will conduct all new employee orientations as well as teach all recertification classes. Will be the Safety Officer in charge of developing, implementing, and carry out BSW Safety Programs. Will be the Safety Committee Chair person responsible to inspect, compile, summarize and report all safety concerns for BSW Facilities. Investigate and file all workers compensation claims with our insurance provider, and ensure operations work in compliance OSHA requirements and documentation.
Under supervision will process all required documentation for the corporation. Must have the ability to write/complete all required reports and facilities training schedules. Will oversee the compliance of BSW with all applicable laws. BSW, Inc operates under the philosophy of Zero Tolerance for Abuse and Neglect and any such occurrence will be reported according to policy. Will maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving in a professional and courteous manner with consumers, families, guardians,
advocates, co-workers, and other service providers.
Hours of work: Monday - Friday 8am to 4pm. (may vary depending on corporation needs)
Wage: $19.09/hour
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1) High School Diploma or equivalent
2) Two years experience with people with intellectual disabilities preferred
3) Willingness to attend specialized training as required
4) Maintain required certifications
5) Valid Montana driver’s license and the ability to be covered by BSW, Inc. insurance
6) Supervisor experience preferred
7) Computer experience (Excel, word, power point, outlook)
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION:
1. Maintain all required training
2. Complete internal investigative training, MANDT training, First Aide/CRP training, Meds certification
