May require Registered Healthcare Documentation Specialist (RHDS). Additionally, Medical Records Transcriptionist typically reports to a supervisor or manager. - Transcribe pathology reports, correspondence, and other healthcare-related documents accurately and efficiently.
- Review and edit transcriptions for accuracy, grammar, and clarity.
- Ensure all transcriptions comply with legal and ethical standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify dictation and resolve any discrepancies.
- Use reference materials such as medical dictionaries and drug references to ensure accurate transcription.
- Organize and maintain a system for tracking and managing transcriptions.
```Qualifications```
- Previous experience as a Medical Transcriptionist or in a similar role preferred.
- Proficient typing skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Familiarity with medical transcription software and equipment.
- Excellent listening skills to accurately transcribe spoken words.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow guidelines and instructions.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
