May require Registered Healthcare Documentation Specialist (RHDS). Additionally, Medical Records Transcriptionist typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Records Transcriptionist works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     Work Location: Saint Petersburg, FL

    Position Summary:

    • The Medical Transcriptionist performs transcription functions, word processing, communication, and clerical functions effectively and accurately assures that the department's needs are met in a timely manner. Possesses strong communication skills, high attention to detail and can be relied upon for dependable and consistent work output.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Education:

    • A minimum of a High School diploma, GED, Certificate of Completion or equivalent achievement.

    Experience:

    • 2 years’ experience as a medical or general secretary or clerk
    • Proficient in medical terminology, transcription of recorded dictation and computerized word and data processing
    • Ability to understand and react effectively to the age-specific needs unique to patients
    • Demonstrate attention to detail and efficiency; possess problem solving and critical thinking skills
    • Possess proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Ability to perform computer work for extended periods of time
