JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Oversees and supervises the day-to-day operations of the medical records services for specific departments.
• Communicates with physicians, internal departments, and various agencies involved in billing and documentation of inpatient and outpatient services.
• Makes budget recommendations on staffing, equipment and supplies levels.
• Supervises staff and manages employee performance.
• Analyzes trends and work processes for continuing performance improvement; facilitates multi-disciplinary teams and collaborates with other supervisors to improve service and efficiency of Medical Records; takes remedial action as necessary.
• Supervises, organizes, and monitors the storage, retrieval, and release of medical records and information in compliance with confidentiality/security policies, HIPPA and other regulatoryguidelines.
• Recommends work redesign and/or other improvements; serves on various related committees including HIPPA Controls, IMPACT collaborative and Leadership.
• Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate's degree in management or medical services.
• Two years experience in a medical records department including one year as a supervisor.
• Accreditation by the American Health Information Management Association as an Accredited Health Information Technician.
• Technical knowledge and teaching ability of area being supervised.

up to 25 lbs, 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 25 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:

Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock , Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation , Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

Additional Details

Salary: $22.10- $37.14/hour

The grade and salary of the position are based on specific criteria met within the qualifications of each level, relevant experience, skills, performance and internal equity. This position is eligible for shift differentials.
