Medical Records Research Coordinator jobs in Reading, PA

Manatawny Manor is seeking a Medical Records Coordinator to join our team. The Medical Records Coordinator will perform all general and specially designated clerical duties in support of file operations and quality customer service, with adherence to hospital guidelines and departmental policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF MEDICAL RECORDS COORDINATOR:

• Answer phones using appropriate customer service skills
• Retrieve and deliver charts to patient care areas when necessary
• Assist hospital staff with procurement of records
• Pull charts for Medical Staff as requested
• Process fax requests for information
• Order charts from off-site storage facilities
• Assist customer walk-ins as needed
• Cover other areas of the department and clerical area as needed
• Checking computer for record location, purposes of retrieval and filing
• File inpatient and outpatient loose documents in the correct area of the correct patient chart
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS OF MEDICAL RECORDS COORDINATOR:

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Previous related experience required
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task
• Basic computer skills
