The Medical Education Scholarship & Research Coordinator performs duties associated with coordinating, implementing and balancing multiple research/scholarship studies and projects. Accountable to deliver established goals, utilizing good judgment, knowledge and skills in the area of expertise while maintaining expected quality standards. Handles or assists with administrative activities generally associated with research projects at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine (SOM). Maintains data pertaining to research projects, completes source documents/case report forms, and performs data entry. Assists with recruitment. Attends study meetings. Orders and maintains equipment and supplies. Assists with quality assurance and tracks regulatory submissions. Performs related approved responsibilities as required.
Responsibilities:
A day in the life of a Medical Education Scholarship & Research Coordinator at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

Works closely with the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs to support the implementation and advancement of the Medical Education Scholarship Initiative.
- Collaborates with faculty and staff in the Office of Medical Education, IHS Library, and the SOM broadly to ensure progress of SOM Medical Education Research and Scholarship Cohort and programming.
- Supports development and maintenance of Medical Education Research and Scholarship infrastructure, such as website and tracking databases.
- Facilitates and supports faculty and staff in the Medical Education Research and Scholarship Cohort.
- Assists research personnel in the implementation of research studies to ensure successful completion of study goals.
- Supports the preparation and maintenance of all Institutional Review Board (IRB) and regulatory paperwork to comply with institutional regulatory requirements.
- Assists in the recruitment and relationship building of study subjects, arranges study visits and provides instructions to meet the goals of the study.
- Abstracts or collects data from study subjects and enters information into the designated forms/database to comply with study protocols.
- Builds and maintains a broad network of professional relationships with participants, principal investigator, coinvestigators, research study staff, and other collaborators to ensure successful research collaborations.
- Identifies and reports issues that may affect the accuracy and quality of study design and implementation to meet study aims.
- Participates in internal/external research related conferences and investigator meetings to build and maintain relationships.
- Reports work time monthly for Time and Effort Reporting as required by internal and federal policies.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Master's Degree in higher education, administration, or research-related field.
- Minimum of 2-4 years in an educational setting working with faculty, students, and administration.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to problem solve, adapt to change, and handle and complete multiple and concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment.
