We are looking for a medical records manager who has great knowledge of hospital medical recordkeeping tasks and data entry. A great candidate should be aware of their approach and aide in developing a healing environment in a hospital setting! This person would provide leadership and healthy mentoring as needed also working within the same environment. The candidate should exhibit high standards of following administrative, ethical, and legal requirements for safeguarding patient privacy. The ideal candidate would also be familiar with Trauma Informed Care theory or working in a behavioral health setting.
Summary Performance Description: Proactively and continuously identifies and investigates or assesses potential deficiencies, variances, and opportunities for improvement regarding Medical Records Department functions while working closely with other administrative leaders to ensure all top-notch compliance standards. Completes work with a high degree of initiative within the position’s scope, accuracy, timeliness, objectivity, specificity, and efficiency; pay strict attention to the detail of data and information; produce written work products that are grammatically correct, properly formatted and organized, professional, accurate, clear, concise, specific, and objective in language. Demonstrates basic understanding of all activities executed by the Medical Records Department; meet operational needs by effectively completing assigned work and effectively executing supervisory, administrative duties, and reviewing officer duties; participate in the completion of subordinates’ work as operationally indicated.
Education And Experience:
- Associate degree or higher in business/healthcare admin/ related Field is preferred
- At least 2 years’ experience in a hospital setting is required
Certifications:
- Must hold an active Medical Record Keeping certification (RHIT or RHIA preferred).
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
Qualifications:
- 1 year experience with medical and/or behavioral health records
- Ability to interact with persons from diverse backgrounds and experiences
- Ability to organize and prioritize care plans efficiently
- Leadership skills as part of a team approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of current versions of Adobe Acrobat Pro and Microsoft Office at an advanced level
