Medical Records Clerk - Home Care organizes, files, and retrieves patient medical records for a home care office. Files various medical documentation, including patient notes, radiology reports, and lab results. Being a Medical Records Clerk - Home Care performs related clerical duties. May be responsible for clerical duties related to patient admission/discharge. Additionally, Medical Records Clerk - Home Care works with both paper-based systems and electronic medical records (EMR). Typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Records Clerk - Home Care possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. 8:00AM-4:30PMUnit Clerk (Med Records) position currently available at our Lutheran Home Campus. This position is responsible for providing a wide range of secretarial, administrative and medical records support to the nursing unit such as:
- Coordinate with physicians, nursing staff, patients, families, and other departments in relation to patient care
- Assist with coordinating patient appointments, transportation, transfers, and discharges
- Receive, analyze, process and maintain both paper and electronic charts
- Perform secretarial and administrative duties on nursing units
Candidates must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent. Unit clerk or similar experience is required. Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel). Prior experience working in a nursing home or hospital setting is strongly preferred. Must be a customer service professional and highly organized.
