Medical Librarian Assistant assists the librarian and users with the operations of a medical library. Helps with computer searches, inter-library loans, cataloging, circulation, general reference and questions about library services. Being a Medical Librarian Assistant organizes and shelves materials and prepares new materials for circulation. May perform data entry to update library systems. Additionally, Medical Librarian Assistant may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Librarian Assistant works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. External candidates who have not worked within the UVMHN in the past year are eligible for a one-time sign-on bonus of $2,000 gross. The bonus will be paid out at $500.00 following the completion of a successful 90 day orientation; the second installment of $1,500 will be paid upon completion of one year of satisfactory service in the same department.
This position assists with the daily activities of a clinical site and facilitates the flow of patients by providing clerical and clinical health care support to patients and family under the direction of a provider. The position requires mastery of basic clinical activities and some advanced clinical activities.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational training in a relevant area preferred. CPR certification required.
EXPERIENCE:
One year experience providing or assisting in direct patient care required.
