About the Position

The Medical Assistant at Meadville Medical Center will be responsible for performing a variety of clinical functions in the physician's office to provide excellent service to patients and families. This may include assisting the physician with treatments, obtaining specimens from patients and processing properly, as well as obtaining histories and vitals from patients. You will also assist with triaging patient calls, prescription refills, call backs, prior authorizations as needed, telephone answering, and appointment scheduling.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for provider visits according to established policies and procedures
• Administer medications and vaccinations to patients as ordered by physician
• Assist physicians with procedures, collect specimens, and perform tests as requested
• Maintain responsibility for patient and equipment safety

Requirements

• Graduate from a medical assistant program
  • Sufficient experience may substitute education
• Certified Medical Assistant
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider card
