Medical Librarian Assistant jobs in Amarillo, TX

Duties:

• Escort and Preparing patients for examinations: Including obtaining vitals, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature primary complaint and reason for visit and documenting into EMR system
• Have your own Stethoscope for your use
• Obtaining medical histories
• Assisting the physician during examinations and may perform minor wound care, suture removal, sterile-tray set up and assisting the physician with other in-office procedures
• Drawing & administering injections
• Phlebotomy
• Performing in-office testing
• Explaining medical procedures to patients
• Instructing patients about medication and special diets
• May collect laboratory specimens
• Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required and dispose of contaminated supplies

Requirements:

-High school diploma or equivalent.
-Completion of a medical assistant training program or certification.
- Previous experience working in a hospital or medical setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of basic medical procedures and terminology.
- Basic life support certification required.
- Proficiency in computer skills and electronic health record systems.

Education and Experience :

• Must have thorough education and training in the basics of medical terminology
• Must have a minimum of 2 years clinical experience
• Must have specialized training in Medical Assisting
• Must be a Certified Medical Assistant
• Must have a current CPR Certificate
• -Attention to Detail – Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.

Pay: $16.32 - $19.66 per hour
