Medical Interpreter conducts medical and general interpreting for staff, patients, and their families. Assesses and monitors patients' understanding of information conveyed. Being a Medical Interpreter advises medical personnel about any cultural issues that might impact patient care. Records and monitors interpretation activities according to hospital and department standards. Additionally, Medical Interpreter may be required to translate written documents. Requires familiarity with medical terminology. Requires fluency in one or more languages in addition to English. May require an associate degree or equivalent. May require Translation certificate. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Interpreter works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. The Medical Receptionist/Interpreter works as a part of the care team performing those clerical duties necessary to prepare patients for a visit. Greet patients, checks patients in and out and collects fees. Ensures that accurate patient and insurance information is collected and entered in the EHR. Answers telephone, takes messages and makes appointments. Attendance is an essential job function.

Good computer skills Knowledge of Electronic medical records a plus! Perform all duties within HIPAA regulations Must be detailed oriented with strong organization skills and work in a faced paced environment. Must have excellent customer service!
