Medical Director plans and directs all aspects of an organization's medical policies, standards, and programs. Responsible for strategic clinical relationships with physicians and interns. Being a Medical Director ensures all clinical programs are in compliance with all applicable regulations. Researches and studies current medical publications and data on new treatments and practices to ensure high quality clinical service offerings. Additionally, Medical Director advises non medical management on clinical and patient related matters and policies. Requires a MD degree. Typically reports to top management. The Medical Director manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a Medical Director typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience.     Summary of Job Duties:The MLT Director is responsible for coordinating the delivery of instruction, ensuring the quality of instruction, budgeting, and overall leadership, management, and supervision of the program. The program director is responsible for the operation of the MLT program within the accordance and policies and procedures of all approving bodies and accrediting agencies (NAACLS). The director is a faculty member that will teach in the program as well.Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree with active plan for Master's Degree within 2 years.
    • Hold ASCP-BOC or ASCPi-BOC certification.
    • Two years medical laboratory experience and/or training.
    • Two years of teaching/training or in-service experience.
