ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Director to join our team. As the Medical Director, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all medical activities within our organization. This is a leadership role that requires strong clinical knowledge, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills. The Medical Director shall perform the following services for the benefit of the company. Works collaboratively with the Clinical Director and Nurse manager on staff.

• Adheres to and ensures facility policy and procedures
• Abide by all safety/risk infection control, and other guidelines required
• Assists in ensuring State and Federal regulations, and Joint Commission standards are met and maintained.
• Participates in quarterly performance improvement meetings
• Provides in-service education for PHP, IOP, and OP services as requested.
• Participates in agency quality assurance and utilization review activities.
• Conducts peer reviews if necessary.
• Works with the clinical and administrative staff regarding matters of program development and major policy reviews
• Provide on-call coverage to coordinate any medical or psychiatric needs of patients
• Performs or supervises appropriate designee in performing psychiatric evaluation and history and physical for patients admitted to Inpatient Detoxification and Inpatient Residential services.
• Provides supervision for clinical activities as designated by patients' treatment plans.
• Ensure completion of physician weekly progress notes
• Ensures appropriateness for recertification of patients for continuing services.
• Possess skills integrating individual treatment approaches into the treatment milieu
• Possess good working relationships with other health care professionals, physicians, and psychiatric staff.
• Meets required hours in accordance with the employment agreement of weekly in-person visits.
• If an ARNP or PA is used in place the medical director will provide a protocol for supervision and agreement with the ARNP or PA will be in place.
• Develop, approve, implement and update the general policies, protocols and procedures of the facility.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONS REQUIREMENTS

• The position of Medical Director requires a medical doctorate and licensure in the State of Florida that is within good standing.
• A specialty in psychiatry is required and additional certification in addiction medicine is preferred.
• Must have active DEA and X prescribing privileges.
• A minimum of 5 years experience as a Medical Director in Substance Abuse and Mental Health Treatment settings.
