Medical Billing Supervisor oversees the preparation of medical bills and invoices, the calculation of provider charges, and verification of patient insurance. Maintains insurance documents and contracts. Being a Medical Billing Supervisor oversees the submission of claim reports and filing procedures. Ensures billing operations are performed in an accurate and timely manner. Additionally, Medical Billing Supervisor evaluates billing processes and procedures and assists management in developing revisions. Monitors the revenue cycle activities and resolves any issues. Needs to be familiar with ICD-10, CPT, and/or HCPCS Coding Systems as well as claim forms such as CMS-1500 and UB-04. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. - Responsible for becoming a reimbursement subject-matter-expert on all Drug Infusion/ Oncology insurance carriers’ billing requirements to ensure ‘1st pass’ claim processing.
- Responsible for managing Drug Infusion carrier billing requirement templates.
- Works with AR team and is accountable for the resolution of problem claim reimbursement issues.
- Works with insurance carriers to ensure procedures are being paid correctly per contract.
- Assists with patient inbound and outbound calls
- Works with assigned client(s) internal departments to assist billing, posting and AR teams with billing clarification requests to insure payment.
- Advises and directs billers on carrier requirements and changes for assigned procedures
REQUIREMENTS
Position is full-time (40 hours) per week during normal business hours Mon-Fri.
Minimum of 3 years of experience with insurance carrier reimbursement
Minimum 2 years of experience with Oncology/ Infusion billing
Experience working with multiple billing systems- NextGen and Unlimited a plus
Minimum of 3 years of experience with revenue cycle management to include but not limited to: billing, payment posting, AR follow-up and reporting.
Mininum 2 years of Infusion or Oncology Medical Billing experience required and Certified Coding experience a plus
Position is remote but we will give preference to candidates that reside within Pacific and Mountain Time Zones
Must have quiet home office set-up with PC computer (no more than 1 year old), high-speed internet and multi-function printer/scanner set-up.
