Medical Billing Specialist jobs in Sacramento, CA

Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical records and patient bills
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of medical coding and billing
- Utilize ICD-9, ICD-10 coding systems to assign appropriate codes
- Verify insurance coverage and process claims for reimbursement
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve billing issues and denials
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation for billing purposes
- Stay updated on changes in medical coding regulations and guidelines

Preferred Experience

- Proficient in medical terminology, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes
- Knowledge of medical collection practices and insurance claim processing
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical billing software
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
