The specialist ensures compliance with coding standards, resolves discrepancies in payments, and maintains organized billing records. The position demands attention to detail, adherence to regulations, and a commitment to providing clear explanations to patients.
ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS:
Under direct supervision of the Billing Manager and/or his or her designee, the Billing Specialist will provide support to the Billing Manager. The Billing Specialist should possess a knowledge of company operations and expectations set forth by the leadership team.
Supervision Received: Works under direct supervision of the Billing Manager. Position requires a 90-day evaluation to review performance and fit.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or GED
Licensure: Certification(s) in medical billing, coding, and/or credentialing preferred but not required.
Other: Proficiency in using billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and coding preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in medical billing and familiarity with healthcare coding systems and billing procedures preferred but not required.
