Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure prompt and accurate billing of patients
• Scrutinize patient bills for precision and request any missing information as necessary
• Process healthcare claims and perform Accounts Receivable (AR) functions
• Guarantee that claims contain the essential information for timely reimbursement
• Proficiency in comprehending Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)
• Review and rectify rejected claims, resubmit or appeal denials as needed
• Familiarity with insurance companies' expectations and claims requirements
• Exhibit meticulous attention to detail, consistent collection skills, and maintain high billing standards in line with industry guidelines

Skill & Experience Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a dedicated Billing Specialist (2 years or more preferred)
• Knowledge of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Billing and experience with Brightree (a plus)
• Expert in appeal submission and follow-up procedures
• Familiarity with billing software and electronic medical records
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Team-oriented work ethic to meet department-wide deadlines
• Proficiency in computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT, and Medical Terminology

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
