David E. Palozej Eyecare Associates is in search of a Billing Specialist. We are a small Optometric practice with two busy offices. The ideal candidate will be a dependable team player, have strong interpersonal and communication skills and be conscientious and self-driven. In this role, you would be responsible for coordination all aspects of the billing process as well as supporting the organization where needed.
Duties Include:
Involvement in every segment of the claim life cycle. The cycle includes maintaining accuracy of patient records prior to initiating the billing cycle, verifying insurance eligibility, verifying medical and optometric coding, claim batch submission using practice software and third party clearinghouse, following adjudication, posting remittances, following up with rejections and denials, generate patient statements and collections and monitoring aging reports.
Secondary responsibilities:
Assist other departments in all aspects of patient care as needed. Provide training and assistance to other departments regarding insurance practices and benefits as needed. Ability to work independently, establish priorities, and organize workload. Maintain highest level of customer service while demonstrating friendly, compassionate and cooperative attitude. Cross train with each department to provide coverage as necessary. Strong time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
