JOB DESCRIPTION:

Skillset:

• Knowledge of EMR/Practice Management software.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
• Knowledge of basic medical coding a plus- CPT & ICD-10.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to focus and not easily distracted.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with patients and employees.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Essential Functions:

• Prepare and submit clean claims to various insurance companies electronically
• Responsible for ensuring proper collection procedures are followed on all patient accounts.
• Prepare, review, and mail patient statements.
• Correct clearinghouse rejections and resubmit claims.
• Check Gateway EDI clearinghouse weekly to confirm all claims have been received by carriers.
• Conform to all applicable HIPAA billing compliance & safety guidelines.
• Submit secondary claims
• Review and appeal denied claims
• Confirm patient benefits for surgeries and patch testing

• Process and post insurance and patients payments daily and prepare a daily deposit.
• Post zero EOB’s and assist with other posting.

• Generate monthly A/R reports for all accounts 30 days past due and over for all pay classes.
• Working A/R (patient and insurance) reports efficiently to maintain designated monthly percentage goals.
• Review accounts and prepares accounts for the collection agency.
• Perform various collection actions including contacting patients by phone, correcting and resubmitting claims to the third party payers.
• Monitor the results of previous collection attempt letters and ensures continuity with stronger letters if no activity has resulted.
• Evaluate patient’s financial status and establish monthly payment plans as per protocol. Maintain daily log of patients on payment plans; follow and reports status of delinquent accounts.

• Refund request: Calling insurance companies regarding request if required. Also, submit a refund request on credit balances.
• Professionally answer questions from patients, clerical staff, and insurance companies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
