Medical Assistant assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records or inputs information to patients' medical records. Being a Medical Assistant prepares treatment rooms for the examination of patients. May draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Additionally, Medical Assistant may perform administrative duties such as ordering supplies, answering the phone, and scheduling appointments. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RCA) certification. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Medical Assistant works under moderate supervision. POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides quality service to patients in the clinic and via alternate communication methods (telephone, email, etc.) Medical Assistants/Nurse Aides assist the medical providers, serve as liaisons between patients and providers, and perform Medical Reception, and Patient Portal tasks (reception, telephone, scheduling) as needed.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
This position reports to the Medical Assistant Manager or Co-Assistant Manager. No other roles report to this position.
