On behalf of Ascension Medical Group Genesys, Provider Staffing Inc. is hiring a Medical Assistant. Position is located in Genesee County in the Linden area.

Medical staff will assist the provider to facilitate a safe, and friendly experience for the patient, all while ensuring the highest quality of patient care.

PRIMARY MEDICAL ASSISTANT RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Room patients including blood pressure, weight, and temperature
• Document the patient's history and reason for the visit in EHR
• Obtain the patients vitals
• Assist with the clinical visit as directed by the provider
• Assist with electronic Rx refills
• Venipunctures are required at some offices
• Injections
• Contact patients in regards to labs and diagnostic studies
• Maintain the order and cleanliness of all exam rooms and laboratory areas
• Perform routine inventories and replenish medical supplies
• Assist with front desk responsibilities as needed
• Other duties as assigned
• May assist with referrals and prior authorizations

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of medical office experience.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with insurance billing and procedures.
• Prior experience with EHR preferred, but not necessary
• Attention to detail.
• Well-developed time and task management skills.
• Professional demeanor.
• Charge entry experience preferred
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• For medical assistants- Certificate from an accredited program showing completion of Medical Assisting training or E.M.T. certification.
