Medical Assistant assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records or inputs information to patients' medical records. Being a Medical Assistant prepares treatment rooms for the examination of patients. May draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Additionally, Medical Assistant may perform administrative duties such as ordering supplies, answering the phone, and scheduling appointments. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RCA) certification. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Medical Assistant works under moderate supervision. PrimeCare Medical Inc. is looking for enthusiastic and hard-working Certified Medical Assistants (CMA) to work part time on the day shift in the medical department at the Hillsborough County Department of Corrections located in Manchester, NH.
Job Responsibilities
The Medical Assistant will be responsible for a variety of daily tasks and duties including performing the initial intake screening on new receptions, taking vital signs and completing all appropriate intake forms per written protocol.
In addition, the Medical Assistant will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining examination and treatment areas for the facility.
