Medical Assistant assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records or inputs information to patients' medical records. Being a Medical Assistant prepares treatment rooms for the examination of patients. May draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Additionally, Medical Assistant may perform administrative duties such as ordering supplies, answering the phone, and scheduling appointments. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RCA) certification. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Medical Assistant works under moderate supervision. Uniontown Medical Associates, Inc. is a private-established family practice with one location. We are seeking a compassionate, hard working Medical Assistant that is a team player and family oriented.
Responsibilities
· Accompany patients to and from the exam rooms. Assist patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, holding the door, etc.…
· Collect and record accurate patient intake; vitals, medications, pharmacy information, , allergies, immunizations, family history, surgical history and social history screenings.
· Prepare patient rooms and equipment.
· Perform EKG's, injection of mediations and immunizations, assess blood glucose levels, develop hemoccult slides and other in office testing as requested.
· Appropriately answer, triage, and document patient correspondences. Relay patient messages and patient education as directed by a provider.
· Prepare prescription refill request for approval by a licensed provider.
· Send and receive patient medical records in accordance with HIPAA and other state and federal regulations.
· Complete forms/requisitions as needed, obtain prior authorizations as needed for referrals, testing and prescriptions.
· Schedule and connect patients to ancillary services.
· Prepare and manage charts to ensure information is completed and filed appropriately. (scanning, labeling, patient cases, pending orders, refills, patient demographics, insurance information, consents, patient intake)
· Assist with other duties as needed.

Pay: $16.00 - $17.50 per hour
