GNA (now called CTS at TRC), the nation's leading clean transportation and energy consulting firm, is seeking a Manager of Media Relations to join our growing team based in our Santa Monica office. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your proven media relations expertise to support a range of communications and media campaigns to help secure media and thought leadership opportunities on behalf of our clients driving the adoption of clean transportation technology and zero-emission commercial vehicles across a range of industries. Your work will have meaningful impact by helping accelerate public awareness and adoption of environmentally sustainable commercial transportation, which helps address climate change.

The Manager of Media Relations will support the Director of Media Relations, with media outreach on behalf of a growing array of initiatives and exciting projects on behalf of GNA's clients in the zero-emission vehicle manufacturing, EV charging infrastructure, electric utility, and clean energy sectors. To excel in this role, you will enjoy working in a client-driven, results-oriented, collaborative team environment, have excellent written skills, stellar communication and relationship building abilities, and a knack for press and media outreach.

Creating and implementing comprehensive media outreach and thought leadership strategies that complement B2B marketing strategies for both existing and prospective clients across the clean technology industries.

Core responsibilities include:

• Working with clients to identify media goals and opportunities, and developing related content
• Tracking media opportunities, monitoring current and emerging trends to identify media and thought leadership opportunities for clients across a range of industries
• Pitching/outreach to media contacts, utilizing a media list of trade, regional and national media
• Drafting press releases, announcements, and media alerts & advisories; circulating to multiple external stakeholders for review and approval
• Preparing thoroughly researched, executive-level talking points for press interviews and events
• Maintaining and utilizing media monitoring service, Meltwater, to track and report press coverage and distribute press releases
• Preparing media coverage reports for clients on quantitative and qualitative results
• Facilitating media engagement at events, such as ACT Expo, which is hosted by GNA
• Leading multi-partner project meetings to develop consensus on PR strategies and planning

• 4 years combined media or Public Relations experience required, preferably with experience in the transportation or clean energy industries with experience developing and executing media pitch campaigns
• Proven track record of successful media outreach in terms of organic media placements, earned press coverage, unique bylined articles, etc.
• Understanding of media and PR best practices
• Excellent communication skills including ability to research and write compelling media pitches
• Proven ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally, with experience working closely with marketing teams
• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in communications, public relations, marketing, business, English, journalism

Work Location: Santa Monica, CA (hybrid & flexible schedule; 4 days remote with 1 day in office)

In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $80,000 - $100,000. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
