Marketing Media Manager

  • The Marketing Media Manager will primarily be responsible for all Flagler County tourism social media and content development through creative and effective content and social media strategies. The position is focused primarily using online-based technologies and is charged with prioritizing, optimizing, and sustaining the Tourist Development’s presence across a variety of online mediums and social channels to drive engagement, online traffic, and awareness.

    This position should have a strong working knowledge of the current social media landscape and have a passion for creative content development, including but not limited to video, photography, and graphic design. You will play a critical role in growing the Tourist Development brand by telling our story on culture and brand in engaging and innovative ways.

    Social Media:
     
    • Manage day-to-day social media posts, activities and campaigns including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Pinterest.
    • Develop relevant content and promotional campaigns to reach target audiences and drive engagement.
    • Serves as the primary point-of-contact to promote and drive online and social media efforts designed to generate online conversation about the destination.
    • Implement a content editorial calendar to manage content and plan specific, timely marketing campaigns.
    • Collect user generated content (UGC) and develop and execute strategy for engagement and reposting this content.
    • Monitor, listen and respond to users in a “Social” and engaging way.
    • Develop and expand community and/or influencer outreach efforts.
    • Monitor online reviews and reputation.
    • Compile reports for management showing results.
    • Become an advocate for the organization in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate.
    • Monitor trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy.
    • Implement ongoing education to remain highly effective.
    • Identify threats and opportunities in user-generated content surrounding the organization. 
    • Report notable threats to appropriate management.
    • Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media campaigns. 
    • Analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.
     
    Content Development:
     
    • Develops editorial calendar and content timelines for online distribution. 
    • Writes content as needed for various marketing channels.
    • Track and optimize content performance.
    • Assist in collaborating with other team members and/or vendors to support ongoing website development needs, as well as digital paid media campaigns that include, but are not limited to, paid search, paid social, digital pre-roll and display.
    • Support SEO and SEM strategies set forth by the Executive Director.
    • Manages the Tourist Development photo and video and library, understanding usage rights, procurement channels, and asset needs across channels. 
    • Identifies and maintains proficiencies in emerging channels and technologies that source destination information—such as Google travel products, TripAdvisor.com, etc.
    • Is responsible for the creation, curation, distribution and promotion of engaging photo and video content for the destination’s website and YouTube channel. 
    • Other duties as assigned.
    • During emergencies, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.

    • Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
    • 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
    • Any equivalent combination of related training, education and experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.

    • Knowledge of social media platforms and best practices.
    • Must have experience developing content for social media channels
    • Must be familiar with creating editorial calendars and working interdepartmentally to create content
    • Must be knowledgeable of photography, videography, graphic design and associated programs
    • Website management and content development.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and standard computer software skills (i.e., electronic mail, word processing, database development, project management, internet usage, etc.) required.
