Media Relations Manager develops and implements policies and procedures for the relations between the media and the organization. Works to expand understanding of the organization's business, performance, and strategy. Being a Media Relations Manager prepares summaries of media activity for senior management. May serve as the company's spokesperson. Additionally, Media Relations Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Media Relations Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Media Relations Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for the safe operation of the crane, as well as the safety of the gang on the ships and in the warehouse
- Report unsafe operations and behavior to the assigned production manager
- Responsible for the safe trans loading of cargoes and commodities
- Ensures the maintenance of the crane, including performing pre-job inspections and periodic maintenance
- Ensures the assignment of crew personnel to perform preventative maintenance
- Observes load hookup and determines load safety
- Report ALL incidents through company's reporting protocol
- Support company safety initiatives
- Demonstration of knowledge of all required competencies
- Perform other duties as required
SKILL/ KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- TWIC card required
- Working Experience in the stevedoring/ warehousing industry (preferred)
- Ability to safely operate assigned equipment
- Thorough knowledge of rig operation and maintenance programs
- Thorough knowledge of client personnel safety programs
- At least 40 hours of seat time in all assigned equipment
- Proficiency in equipment and terminal operations
- Be physically fit to perform all essential physical demands of this job safely
- Demonstrated safe work practices, history, and leadership ability
- Commitment to customer service
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Must comply with all operational directives and company policies
