Job Purpose
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Anodize and Plating department. As the Production Manager you will lead the frontline crews to ensure productivity performance, quality, efficiency, and safety. This role executes short-term tactical operations and development plans and assists the General Manager in leading and developing a high performing manufacturing operations vision. The Production Manager understands department business plans and requirements to support achievement of department and company goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Plan and coordinate customer requirements, manpower, productivity, etc.
· Responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Anodize and Plating departments and their teams in order to meet production goals, meet customer specifications and expectations and ensure a safe work environment.
· Track and monitor production and costs to ensure departments meet established goals.
· Responsible for cost savings initiatives to reduce production spending.
· Leads the safety deliverables in the departments, strong advocate of measures, metrics, and participation.
· Manage execution of daily management activities such as team meetings, shift exchanges, daily direction-setting, visual controls, etc.
· Flex production plans on a shift-by-shift basis to prevent operational inefficiencies.
· Direct process improvements in the work area to gain efficiencies.
· Builds people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, and communication for front-line hourly personnel.
· Mentor and develop direct reports in leadership and behaviors that build trust and develop the culture.
· Maintain product quality and sanitation standards.
· Regular presence on the production floor.
· Assist with sales quotes as needed.
