Media Production Manager manages the planning and execution of the pre-production, production, and post-production stages of television or web broadcasts, shows or videos. Ensures pre-production processes, including ideation, concept creation, casting, script writing, budgeting, specifications, and scheduling are completed. Being a Media Production Manager engages and organizes the technical and logistical resources required for each production. Coordinates the team of production technical specialists for camera, sound, and lighting for each production. Additionally, Media Production Manager facilitates post-production editing operations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Media Production Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Media Production Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Mass communications, messaging and the operations of the Annual Giving team help tell the story in how we all continue to be part of something bigger. This is great opportunity to lead our efforts to tell the story of UCLA's remarkable achievements through mass appeal campaigns.

    Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing print, digital and filmed media for UCLA's Annual Giving mass communications efforts. You will lead the entire production project lifecycle, from concept through production, post, review and launch phases. As our Media Production Manager, you will assess project-related resources including talent, on/off campus locations, props, crews and budgets; will prepare and negotiate contracts with vendors; develop and submit approvals; manage production budgets and maintain all related print and video production materials and assets. In collaboration with the Director and/or Senior Executive Director, you will be actively involved in the strategy, development and creation of media production and will manage production of special projects as assigned. Utilizing your strong organizational, time and project management skills, you will ensure all components are completed on brand, on time, and on budget. You will also address and resolve issues and work toward successful outcomes for all managed projects.     Required/Preferred

    1. Minimum of four years' experience in print and digital production with strong project and time management skills and hands-on experience with project management software including MS Project, Jira and Basecamps.

    2. Strong knowledge of printed and electronic communications production sufficient to ensure cost effectiveness, quality and timeliness.

    3. Strong knowledge of photo and video production processes to include image procurement, location selection, guiding process of design elements, editing and arranging licensing permissions.

    4. Skill in devising realistic and comprehensive production schedules with ability to problem solve, make changes and corrections as they occur, and to offer appropriate solutions while managing initiatives from inception to completion.

    5. Demonstrated experience working with vendors and managing vendor relationships, agreements and associated information/vendor databases.

    6. Detail oriented with demonstrated ability to independently plan, organize and work on multiple projects simultaneously through completion; provide proficient follow-up and make effective timely decisions to meet deadlines in a dynamic and ever-changing environment.

    7. Demonstrated experience serving as a team leader with excellent interpersonal skills to interact and communicate with a wide array of internal and external constituents in an efficient, positive and professional manner.

    8. Experience developing project budgets and success staying within budget during execution. Accurate math skills including, but not limited to, calculating rations, rates and percentages sufficient for analysis.
