Media Production Manager manages the planning and execution of the pre-production, production, and post-production stages of television or web broadcasts, shows or videos. Ensures pre-production processes, including ideation, concept creation, casting, script writing, budgeting, specifications, and scheduling are completed. Being a Media Production Manager engages and organizes the technical and logistical resources required for each production. Coordinates the team of production technical specialists for camera, sound, and lighting for each production. Additionally, Media Production Manager facilitates post-production editing operations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Media Production Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Media Production Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Position description

    The Department of Film & Media at UC Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach undergraduate-level studio courses in creative film and/or digital media production. Course themes could include areas in documentary/essay, dramatic fiction, animation, experimental or other expanded digital-media practices. Technique centered courses in cinematography, sound design and post-production also considered. Studio course design should integrate theoretical and critical approaches to media study into hands-on production technique and forms. Applicants should demonstrate creative and technical expertise, but also a strong commitment to teaching media production within a liberal and fine arts curriculum at a large, diverse, public research university.

    General Duties: In addition to teaching responsibilities and demonstration of production technologies general duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), and interacting with students outside of class time via email and campus web-based course resources.

    Experience in teaching creative digital film and media production at the college level in the U.S.

    Completed MA/MFA (or equivalent international degree) in Film and/or Media (or a Humanities field)
