Product Development & Culinary Director

Roles & Responsibilities

Tastefully Simple is privately held company with 28 years of proven success carried out by its visionary leader, Founder and CEO, Jill Blashack Strahan. Jill is looking for this key position to help take the company to the next level in sales revenue and overall performance with the same vision and leadership she has exemplified over the last 28 years.

Primary Expectations

Align and collaborate with the HQ team to: 

Oversee product development 

• Develop innovative, high quality product line
• Oversee pricing, gross margin, and blended net retail
• Research industry trends and gather consumer insights

 Design culinary strategy to drive the brand 

• Establish parameters for simple recipes with broad base appeal
• Oversee culinary video production and media demonstrations
• Create compelling vision to attract influencers
• Create and deliver presentations that stir the audience to rally and take action

 Maintain strong relationships

• Establish relationships with vendors, sales force and HQ team members
• Oversee vendor contracts
• Travel to trade shows and vendor sites as needed

 Provide leadership & accountability

• Build and develop A-team with high standards of performance 
• Nurture and model culture of abundance, celebration, excellence & realness

 Achieve goals and metrics 

• Improve margins and ROI on products 
• Analyze monthly metrics and data
• Create and meet budget and sales forecasts 
• Develop, monitor, and accomplish team goals
• Ensure performance indicators are attained

Education and Experience 

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, culinary or related field or equivalent experience
• Five years of developing and implementing successful product strategies 
• Consumer packaged goods
• Pricing and cost of goods sold (COGS)
• Five years in leadership with three or more team members

 Preferred experience

• Buyer
• Direct sales
• Leading in an entrepreneurial, privately held company

 Culinary Team: (3) direct reports
