Media Planner is responsible for maximizing the impact of advertising campaigns. Coordinates the development and execution of media and advertising plans that support the client's overall marketing strategy, tactics, message, and objectives. Being a Media Planner uses analytics to design innovative strategies to ensure the client's marketing campaigns reach the target audience. Negotiates media buys, pricing, and media placement scheduling with vendors. Additionally, Media Planner collaborates with stakeholders and vendors to execute plans and control pacing, optimization, and timelines for campaigns. Conducts research on new media strategies, platforms, and channels to utilize for future campaigns or ongoing campaign evolvement. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager. The Media Planner occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Performs field and office work related to planning and development programs for utilization of land and physical facilities of the city.
Ability to sit, stand and move about a building and to inspect public and private property.
Excellent oral, written, and graphics communication skills, general knowledge of municipal planning functions and geographic information systems (ESRI ArcGIS).
Ability to effectively communicate with developers and citizens in order to provide information and guidance on planning and zoning issues. Ability to work in conjunction with employees from different departments. Knowledge of current planning processes and procedures. Ability to read and understand technical materials, reports and journals. Skill in developing related reports and ability to analyze and present data on land use applications and planning. Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, to citizens and other government officials.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in architecture, planning, engineering, economics, or related field. One to three years of experience is preferred. A valid Texas Driver's License or the ability to obtain by the time of hire, is required.
