Media Planner is responsible for maximizing the impact of advertising campaigns. Coordinates the development and execution of media and advertising plans that support the client's overall marketing strategy, tactics, message, and objectives. Being a Media Planner uses analytics to design innovative strategies to ensure the client's marketing campaigns reach the target audience. Negotiates media buys, pricing, and media placement scheduling with vendors. Additionally, Media Planner collaborates with stakeholders and vendors to execute plans and control pacing, optimization, and timelines for campaigns. Conducts research on new media strategies, platforms, and channels to utilize for future campaigns or ongoing campaign evolvement. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager. The Media Planner occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.       SUMMARY: Manage the district’s short and long-range planning efforts. Use existing GIS school planning systems as a resource for projecting enrollments, school boundary modifications, school capacities, management of a regional housing development database, and property management. Act as liaison to stakeholders by responding to inquiries regarding enrollment forecasts, population statistics, attendance boundaries, active housing developments, future school sites, and district’s short and long-range facility plans.

      Job Tasks Descriptions

      • Lead, implement, and manage the district’s short- and long-range planning efforts. Provide guidance and expertise in planning-related issues to district leadership, staff, and community members. Collaborate with intergovernmental partners and developers regarding school planning issues.


      • Collaborate with and facilitate planning efforts with district personnel, municipalities, community members, and regional planners based on American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) standards.


      • Support capital construction projects and other staff members by providing reference and support documents, field investigation, CAD drawings, GIS data, printing, and visual aid for meetings.


      • Perform GIS related work including, but limited to, development and maintenance of student geocoding, attendance boundaries, boundary change scenarios, facility capacities, aerial maps, physical feature attributes, suggested walking routes, facility traffic circulation maps, development maps, planning maps, and analysis projections. Attend and participate in monthly GIS cooperative technical committee meetings with various city and county GIS members.


      • Utilize GIS to geocode students, analyze housing data, demographic data, and other associated data points for planning purposes.


      • Archive as-built documents for past projects by organizing PDF documents, indexing, and cross-referencing files in excel for retrieval and access by other departments.


      • Maintain existing facility floor plans, site plans, room utilization schedules, legal descriptions, traffic safety, land and building histories, complex square foot summaries, aerials, and attendance boundary descriptions, both written and visual.


      • Complete field investigative work including field measuring, surveying, and data collection to support and facilitate the development of potential construction projects.


      • Develop, compile, and maintain accurate records of specific playground and sports infrastructure for continual evaluation for current compliance of various health and safety regulatory entities.


      • Review and comment on various plat and development submittals via online portals set up through city and county agencies.


      • Maintain office reference materials such as color rood, flooring, concrete, asphalt books, product literature, samples, industry/trade magazines and bulletins, etc.

      EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:

      • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience, with technical training in Auto CAD and GIS
      • 3-5 years’ experience in construction or project management field, preferred.

      LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS:

      • Criminal background check required for hire.
      • Valid drivers’ license, required, along with district provided defensive driving course.
      TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES:
      • Ability to perform single, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills to meet changing job conditions.
      • Ability to adhere to safety practices and procedures.
      • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records.
      • Advanced math skills to perform algebra and/or geometry.
      • Knowledge of surveying and use of transit/laser for identifying topographic and/or spot elevation information
      • Ability to read technical information.
      • Ability to use a survey GPS, and post process data.
      • Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
      • Ability to communicate with staff, supervisors, outside entities, and the community.
      • Experience at an advanced level using ESRI, AutoCAD, and REVIT.
      • Ability to work with confidential and student demographic information.
      • Proficient in interpreting construction documents.
      • Experience with 3D modeling is beneficial.
      • Knowledge of building codes.
      • Ability to facilitate group discussions and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions.
      • Knowledge of construction materials and methods and ability to read technical blueprints.
      • Ability to read architectural, structural, electrical, and mechanical plans.
      • Ability to schedule activities, gather, collate, and/or classify data.
