Duties and Responsibilities

The Program Manager will supervise various disciplines of a nationwide communications strategy including research, marketing, creative, production, media planning and purchasing, public relations, social media, and web development and design. A suitable candidate will have relevant educational and background information to manage a nationwide communications campaign. The candidate will manage a contract supporting the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is an operating administration within the U.S. Department of Transportation whose mission is to save lives, prevent injuries, and to reduce traffic-related deaths and economic losses resulting from motor vehicle crashes.

The candidate will manage activities including but not limited to:

• Provide technical assistance to NHTSA to develop and promote traffic safety Communications.
• Develop national media buys for television, radio, digital, social media, print, out of-home, mobile, and online.
• Obtain approval for Federally sponsored data collections as required by the
• Paperwork Reduction Act and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) regulations.
• Acquire video and photography services, and plan and execute video and photo shoots.
• Plan and conduct national strategic communications forums and communications trainings.
• Produce and submit reports that provide well-organized and detailed analysis of NHTSA campaigns and demonstration activities.
• Conceptualize, coordinate, and conduct onsite brown-bag training sessions.
• Develop and program digital content.
• Plan and implement events.

Qualifications

• Combination of education and experience will be taken into consideration.
• May be required to undergo a standard background check along with verification of education requirements.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described herein are representative of those which must be met by an employee

to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Employees must possess the ability to work in a standard office or conference room setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer.

To visit other company sites, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle and fly in an aircraft, both of which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time. Employees must possess vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups and over the telephone. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas will be required. This position requires an employee to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance; reach, push, and pull drawers and doors open and closed. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
