Additionally, Media Director may require a bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.   • Alpha Media is seeking an experienced Production Director for our five-station cluster in Dayton, Ohio. The right production director understands the interaction between the talent, clients, and audience at live remotes, appearances, station events, and on-air are a vital part of the station’s ratings and success. The ideal candidate would have basic audio editing skills, and at least one year of experience on-air, although on-air experience is not required. The candidate should be capable of wearing many hats on the programming team, be able to assist with the promotions department and have a passion for radio.
    Responsibilities for this position may include:
    • Oversee the production and insertion of all advertising campaigns including local, regional, national, and barter ads.
    • Produce quality imaging and promos for five diverse radio brands.
    • Create and execute best practices for the Production Department within Programming.
    • Work closely with traffic, sales, and programming to ensure quality production is done on a timely basis.
    • Create high-quality commercials for our advertisers, including original multi-tracked and multi-faceted campaigns.
    • Work directly with clients to execute their campaigns which may include writing great commercials for the client.
    • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Operations Manager or Market Manager and consistent with the position.
    • Engage with listeners via phone calls, contests, and social media.
    • Broadcast live from remote locations and events.
    • Introduces programs and music
    • Reads commercial copy and public service announcements
    • Operate control console.
    • Conduct on-air interviews.
    • Maintain traffic logs and transmitter readings.
    • Conducts on-air interviews.
    • May act as Master of Ceremonies for public and/or private events.
    • Requires creativity, innovation, and original thought in the performance of on-air duties.
    • Retains current knowledge of all relevant social media platforms, engages fully in providing, producing, and updating content on all active digital platforms, and uses social referrals in driving listener traffic to all company social media sites.
    • Work with Promotions and Sales departments on creative content.
    • Assists in special promotions and programming activities.
    Requirements of this position may include the following:
    • Working knowledge of radio automation software.
    • Extensive experience with Adobe production tools.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to relate to the audience and have a strong listener interaction.
    • Knowledge of all applicable FCC rules and regulations.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, and rapidly changing culture and environment.
    • Participate in occasional radio station events or remote broadcasts.
    • Maintain a positive attitude to ensure great relations with our staff, listeners, and clients.
    • A minimum of one year of on-air experience.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Knowledge of all applicable FCC rules and regulations.
    • Proficient in the use of audio editing software and broadcast equipment.
    • Must be a team player and work well with management and staff at all levels.
    • Ability to successfully execute station events and remotes.
    • Able to relate to the audience and have a strong listener interaction.
    • Public speaking skills and ability to interact with listeners and clients in a public setting.
    • Excellent problem-solving and prioritizing skills.
    • Ability to multitask and handle pressures and deadlines.
    • Skilled in the operation of the control board, remote broadcasting, and other related production equipment.
    • Be a positive member of a tight-knit team.
    • Must be creative and innovative with a strong work ethic.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license and fully insured personal vehicle.
    Preferred requirements of this position may include the following:
    • Knowledge of Google GSuite products and Microsoft.
    • Prior broadcast or media industry experience.
